How to Pick the Perfect Hair Cut for your Face

How to Pick the Perfect Hair Cut for your Face

Practical and popular considerations usually influence our haircut and hairstyle.     But a certain hair style no matter how popular it is does not always mean the perfect cut for your face.  There is a hair cut that is best suited for every face shape so how do you pick the perfect cut for you? First determine the shape of your face and the texture of your hair.

Your hair texture can be limp, fine, wavy, curly, dry, thick, thin, dry, straight or coarse. The following suggestions can help you the cut that is suited for your hair texture.

  • Coarse and curly – go with length, short hair makes your hair more frizzy and fluffy. Avoid bangs.
  • Straight and limp- layered cut adds volume and body
  • Dry – always cut it off or maintain just a shoulder length hair.

After identifying your face shape, picking the perfect cut is easy. Listed below are the best styles for specific face shapes:

  • Oval face – any style can go with oval face. Whether it is long or short, layered or straight, the style goes perfectly well with it. You just need to focus on which part of your face needs to be highlighted. You should avoid styles that cover your face and eyes.
  • Square face – short and medium cut with thin layers falling towards the face softens the prominent jaw line. Solid or heavy bangs should be avoided.
  • Oblong face – straight bangs and bob cuts work best for this and as for the length, short and chin to shoulder length cut with layers will soften the lines of oblong face.
  • Round face – There should be no bangs for circular face or it should be swept to the side. Longer hair styles are also better.
  • Triangular face – hairstyle that will highlight your forehead and narrow your chin will draw the attention away from the jaw line. Layered cut is flattering but solid bob cuts should be avoided.
  • Heart shaped – wispy layered and shoulder length hair cut is recommended for heart-shaped face. Short style or heavy bangs  is not for this shape.
  • Diamond face- straight across bangs and style that is tucked behind the ears will highlight the beautiful cheekbones of a triangular face. The neck area should not be left without hair.

The most flexible hairstyle that suits any face shape is shoulder length cut.  It is considered a universal hair cut so if you are not sure about the shape of your face, it is the perfect cut for you.
